Role of Parents

Parents have a special role in the life of children. They know their child best in the whole world. Their support is essential and inevitable in the life of mentally challenged children as well. Also, a child spends more time at home than at Aakanksha, which makes parental role more intrinsic to the overall development of the child.

Keeping this in mind, the specially trained teachers and instructors also interact with the parents and guardians. This is done to introduce them to the developmental therapies and suggest them to follow the necessary training guidelines during the time children are at home. Also, this activity helps the children receive the maximum benefits of the specialized methodology. This interactive exercise also keeps parents equipped of their children progress.

Also, time to time screening and awareness camps are organized to create understanding amongst the parents and families of special children in remote rural areas.
